Working with the seasons, our poultry is reared outside in the warmer months. We only raise our chickens on pasture, so when the weather is too cold, we don't produce. We rear day-old chicks to around 18 days in the warmth of an indoor brooder. When they are robust enough to handle the British weather, we transfer them to outdoor pens. These are mobile and are moved daily to fresh grass. We rear a slow growing breed, and each bird lives to around 10 weeks, double the life of a conventional bird that you would find in the supermarket.
